Status of two fabrics under DCNM v5.2.1 shows as "Unknown User or Password(server)"

Hello All


Client would not want to delete the fabric off DCNM and re-discover it because they can't afford to stop PM services. Is there anyway to update the right credentials for the fabric which is already discovered.

Hi Chetan,


You can only input one userid/password combination for all switches in the fabrics.

The userid that has to match on the switch is the "snmp server user".   The easiest

way to test is to use Device Manager and see if you can connect with the userid/password

combination used on the "Control Panel" on DCNM.  If this doesn't work, then connect

to the switches that aren't working via SSH or Telent and correct the password.


If this is a UCS FI, then you set this via the UCS Manager.  By default, SNMP is not

enabled, so you will need to emable SNMP and create a SNMPV3 userid/password.

Currently, you can not use "admin" on the UCS, you would need to create something

without "admin" in it and put this userid/password on all the switches, then change the

password on DCNM Control Panel.  You can temporarily stop PM, unmanage the fabric,

change the password used for all switches, then re-start PM.
