Background: Trying to ISL two MDS9216i FC switches at our DR site. The two switches are on two different floors, and the DR Site vendor only has 62.5?m Fiber run between the two floors.
.Can we plug in 62.5?m cable into the existing SFPs that come with the switch? (2Gbps shortwave FC SFPs / FC2 850nm 10-1821-01 Class 1 21CFR1040.10.)
.If so, what is the max cable length that is acceptable? We?ve been told that there are 6 connections in the run, but I don?t know how long the run is at this time.
.If not, is there a SFP that we can purchase to install into the two switches that will allow us to use the 62.5?m cable to ISL them?
.If there is an SFP that we can purchase to be able to utilize the 62.5?m cable for the ISL, how long can that cable length be? Keep in mind that there are 6 connections in the cable run between the two floors.
