Using WAAS to prepostion AV updates

I was wondering if anyone had used WAAS to prepostion AV updates to remote sites. If so, were there any unexpected gotcha's or did things proceed along smoothly? I am thinking of rolling out Symantec Corporate AV updates this way to save on bandwidth. Thanks in advance.

James,

Are the AV clients accessing the updates using CIFS? If so, pre-position would be a good fit.

Zach,

Actually, the AV clients for Symantec use TCP port 2967 for communication with the Central Server. Looking at pre-postioning again it would seem that this won't work :-(

What you may want to do is define that TCP port for TFO. This will allow your DRE cache on either side of the link to minimize used bandwidth and drastically speed up your update distribution.
