hi guys, i'm trying to tunning up a disks replication scheme. The main problem is try solve the delay between the sites, it's 220ms and i need to replicate 3 Terabytes per day. have anyone of you tried to implement something similar to this?
In my case, i use MDS 9216 as fiberchannel switch and WAAS 7341 as wan optimizator.
You may want to look into FCIP Write Acceleration to help with the latency. I'm not sure if the replication package you are working with uses the normal SCSI command set or proprietary commands. FCIP WA uses the normal SCSI command set to provide local acknowledgments. WAAS could help optimize the TCP flows across the WAN, and I have heard it works well with FCIP, but I have never set it up myself.
The unmanaged mode is also known as Network only switching, which is introduced in Brazos release. It adds the flexibility for customer to use only network automation for service appliance.
