Hello,
since we use 12.3 ios versions several switches send authentication failures to our network management system when vlan information is requested via snmp (v1/v2).
Our network management system uses the special snmp community syntax <community>@<vlan-id> when it requests vlan information via snmp from the switches.
Several older ios releases (12.1 and 12.2) answer correctly to this requests but 12.3 releases send authentication failure messages.
Does anybody know what's the reason for this misbehaviour?
Many thanks in advance,
Thorsten Steffen

check the community string used for snmp query with the one you can see in the snmp configuration of the device.

The community string of the polling station and the ios devices is idem.
Best Regards,
Thorsten
