Ok. I have a Etc Ion light board that is connected to the SF302-08pp switch that will also have multiple gateways to run dmx so that I can control multiple lighting instruments.
I have everything hooked up and connect to switch via rj45 to do the configuration through GUI. I chaned the switch to IP 10.101.1.1 subnet 255.255.0.0.
The Ion board has IP 10.101.1.2
Subnet 255.255.0.0
default gateway 10.101.1.101
and have DHCP enabled
First IP 10.101.50.100
# of addresses 500
Subnet mask 255.255.0.0
default gateway 10.101.1.101
I called etc and they told me that an unmanaged switch is typically recommended because it is easier to setup. I was told I need to make sure that multicast is on. I enabled Bridge Multicast filtering status in the GUI.
Do I need to enable multicast elsewhere?
Can I make the managed into unmanaged?
