high cpu

Hi,

I have a 6506 switch used as an L3 switch and running image as s3223-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF14.bin.

The switch CPU utilization is going high intermittently above 90% and it comes down automatically.

I can see that the 64% of the cpu utilizaion is due to SNMP confCopyPro and I have attached the output here.

Please let me know why it happens and what is the remedy

Are you using SNMP process to back up your configuration using TFTP?

How big is your running configuration. If it is big then yes you might see a spike while the configuration is getting backed up. Do you see this behavior only on this switch?

Can you relate the time at which you see the spike and also the time the configuration is getting backup match?
