Hi All,

I need some clarification on Configuraing HSRP on 4968 switches . we have 2 4968 namely sw1 and sw2 and vlan's 10 and 20 now we try to connect two servers name server 1 and server 2.

Server 1 as connected on Sw1

Server 2 as connected on Sw2

and both the servers are in same vlans (single subent) vlan 10, and the gateway of the server will be the vlan's VIP ip (HSRP), on this case can both the servers are on live or only the server 1 on sw1 will live.

Kindly clarify

Regards

Both servers should be up and running as long as they have unique IP addresses from Vlan 10.

Hi Edtison,

Thanks for your update need some more clarity on the same request

Switch 1

interface Vlan10
description ####Server VLAN####
ip address 192.168.64.201 255.255.255.0

Hello Mohan,

Your ip address for user vlan overlaps with server vlan. Both 192.168.64.0/24 networks.

Hi ,

my user vlan are in different subnet not in server vlan subnet

Oops, I thought your server ip address are 192.168.64.1 to 30.

Yep, it should not be a problem.
