Interface Vlan configuration

I have just assigned a new interface vlan:

interface Vlan208

ip address 192.168.208.18 255.255.255.240

But the problem is when I do

sh ip route 192.168.208.16

I get

% Network not in table

What is the problem?

Hi,

1.Check whether vlan interface is Up.Use command "show interface vlan 208"

2.If it is not up, see whether any port is added into vlan 208? If it is not , kindly add a port to vlan 208 and then see "show ip route"
