I like the white paper of the GGSN (SAMI) and the engineering rules of the ASR5k, they make it possible to make a decision on the HW to select or to dimension when already in the network. It would be easier to signal needed extensions; An example for me lately was the 2951 ASR G2, we want to run MPLS, BGP, OSPF on this one. We can see it's supported but not what the limitations are of the box in terms of throughput, OSPF neighbours, MPLS limitations, ...
Maybe I am asking a lot, but I am sure this would help a lot of people in make a choice.
