Persistent DNS address

Hi All,

Have a weird one. We have a DHCP for DNS addresses on our devices. However we are seeing a setr of legacy IPs for DNS populated in the field. If we delete them it will get the correct address, but after a short time it will revert? using CE9.7. Can any one tell me how to stop it from claiming that set of IPs.

Cheers

Ian

Hi,

what's a "DHCP for DNS addresses"?

A DHCP only provides an IP-address and other options to devices (e.g. IP of DNS-server). What does it have to do with DNS addresses? If a device wants to resolve a FQDN, then it contacts the DNS-server and not the DHCP.

If a device gets wrong IP address for DNS-servers from the DHCP-server, then you should check the config of the DHCP-server.
