AD import Filter for TMSPE

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anybody had some generic examples on how the AD import search filter in the TMSPE AD import should be written?  Something along the lines of;

(&(memberof=security group)(ou=<folder users are in>, cn=domain, cn=doman, cn=com))

If that is not correct, I figured as much.  As you can tell, I am not an AD admin.  What I'm specifically looking for is how to import all the users in a folder within AD all at once.

Thanks!

AD import Filter for TMSPE

Hi Bob!

The best is often to ask your AD admin ;-)

It might depend on your setup, but something like:

(&(memberof=OU=folder,DC=domain,DC=com)(objectClass=person))

should import all users from that folder.

It can be handy to have an ldap tool to check the results.

Re: AD import Filter for TMSPE

This is what I would use to import all our users intor the one folder.

However, I break it into different groups as I don't want thousands of users in the one folder, and it also allows better access control and the ability to provision users differently based on the group they are member of.

Base dn:

ou=jcu-users,DC=ad,DC=jcu,DC=edu,DC=au

Searc filter:

(&(objectClass=user)(memberOf=cn=staff,ou=organisation,ou=jcu-groups,dc=ad,dc=jcu,dc=edu,dc=au))

But as Martin said, check with your AD admin.
