Hello, team!

I have strange issue with C40.

I can't boot.

I have check messages via console and found this one:

I think you have an issue with the hardware, more specifically, the audio DSPs.

Is in the console log.

So main application is killed because we cannot start these DSPs.

I am afraid this will be an RMA to get a new unit....

Hello,

the image is corrupted.

First step would be to check whether you still have another image on the box.

Can be checked doing :

AMERICA>selectsw

If you see another image which is not active, you can select that image and try to boot.

AMERICA> selectsw image1

(should image2 be active, otherwise choose 2 if image1 is active).

That can possibly recover the unit to previous release.

Indeed, so the easy procedure of trying other image cannot be done.

The next step would be to load image via the u-boot (which is the mode you are in when you see the AMERICA prompt) prompt. You need to have a tftp file server with the image you want to load.

Let me dig up the procedure.

The procedure explains how to load a package from a tftp server.

Can you try that?

Not all files got written/extracted. The error says : "Application terminated, rc = 0x0"

Could be that we have a faulty flash which got the image corrupted in the 1st place.

I looked at u-boot commands to see whether there are any "flash check commands" but could not see anything obvious.

Asked engineering whether there are commands we can run to to a flash check.

Hello,

I overlooked one important thing : you are loading the wrong image! s52011tcnc5_1_5.pkg is for SX20 and we need to get image for a C40 which would be s52000tcnc5_1_5.pkg.

Please try to load the C40 image instead.

You was right. I use wrong image

I try to use s52001tcnc5_1_5.pkg(sorry, but I must use NC software).

It loads, but I can't access to terminal via web-GUI or via Telnet. On TV I can see short 1-minute moovie "White Cisco logo on black font." After that jost "no signal".

The system enters maintenance mode.

At the prompt, can you do :

log

and collect all the output to a file and send it over?

I think you have an issue with the hardware, more specifically, the audio DSPs.

Is in the console log.

Jun 21 14:43:18 (none) main: uhpihost: Can't boot dsp 3

So main application is killed because we cannot start these DSPs.

I am afraid this will be an RMA to get a new unit....
