I am currently implementing the TCS recording server and I have the following questions.
1. What is the calculation for the storage component for call Recording. IE if I am recording a SD call for an hour , how many Gb will it use?
2. Can i just populate the HDD bays within the TCS server?
3. Is an external media server required or cna I just use the inbuilt one?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm not sure of a specific calculation for estimating the storage required for a recording. We have around 1000 SD recordings stored at the moment of various lengths (~300Gb in total). Ones around an hour long vary from 200 - 350 Mb.
We also use the inbuilt media server for playback, so an external one is not necessarily required depending on your requirements.

As mentioned in another forum post (https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/4036035#4036035), there's this document: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-22082 that has some sample sizes for 1 minute calls that you can use to extrapolate your file sizes.
