Can Cisco C40 send/receive 720p@60fps to a 4520 MCU?

Hi there,

I'm unable to do that, I got only FullHd@25fps from the MCU (4 Mbit/s). The MCU and C Codec is set to "Favor motion" and the 60fps checkbox at MCU side is enabled. What is wrong?

What is main camera quality configuration on C40?

This parameter should set to “motion” (xConfiguration Video Input Source 1 Quality:motion).

On MCU side…,

Media ports: Full HD

Motion / sharpness tradeoff: Favor motion or Balance

Maximum video size: Receive MAX, transmit MAX

Check: Enable transmission of 60fps

Then you should get 720p@60 on both direction.

All settings at MCU side AND c40 side are set as you recommended, but still no luck, video resolution is still FullHD at 25fps.

MCU 4520 firmware: 4.3(2.18)

C40 firmware: TC5.1.3.292001

Hi,

What is your optimal definition threshold settinfgs?

xConfiguration Video Input Source 1 OptimalDefinition Threshold60fps

xConfiguration Video Input Source 1 OptimalDefinition Threshold60fps

*c xConfiguration Video Input Source 1 OptimalDefinition Threshold60fps: 1280_720 ** end

I changed this to other values without success.

Do you have Premium Resolution option on your C40 Endpoint (option key starting 1R000)?

You able to double check this by executing “xsta system” command and should see “SystemUnit Software OptionKeys PremiumResolution: "true"” if your C40 have PR option key.

Hi Tomonori,

Yes: *s SystemUnit Software OptionKeys PremiumResolution: "true"

Thanks

Just double check…, I assume you have rebooted MCU after you modified media ports setting to Full HD. (MCU require system restart after any modification on media port setting).

Otherwise better to review full MCU and C40 configuration as this should be quite easy feature to make 720p@60 to works…

The media port mode is set to HD+. According to the online help this should work with 720p@60fps. All other settings are doublechecked, systems are rebooted but no success. If you agree, the next step is to open a service request.

Yes, please open case with TAC with MCU configuration file, “xconfig” & “xsta” log from C40 and probably with H.323/SIP syslog from MCU which will help us to identify quickly what configuration may missing.

As I posted the call status from C40 and MCU, 720p@60 is definitely working between MCU and C40.

And here is call status between C40 as example.
