Can't configure static IP address for Cisco Touch 8"

Hi all,

I found that I can't configure static IP address for Cisco Touch on TC7.0.1 / 7.0.2 with the procedure below.

1. Upgrade a codec (ex. SX20 TC6.3 or lower) and a Touch paired with the codec to TC7.0.2.

2. After upgrade, unpair the Touch (using unpair button on the Touch) and reboot it.

3. Tap "IP settings".

4. Select "Manual IP Assignment".

5. Enter IP address, Subnet mask, Default Gateway then tap "Save".

Even though we've configured static IP address with the procedure above, IP Assignment remains "Auto" (=DHCP) and IP address, Subnet mask, Default Gateway are also empty.

In this situation the only way to configure IP address for the Touch is to use DHCP server.

I guess many users use static IP assignment like us, so this should be fixed ASAP.

Best Regards,

Kotaro Hashimoto

Hi Kotaro,

This is a known issue in TC7.0.1 and TC7.0.2. The bug id is CSCum82147.

As a workaround, set desired IP address on Touch before upgrading to TC7.0.x.

The bug is fixed already and will be included in the next TC software release.

Kind regards,

Jonas Tysso

Hei Jonas,

Thank you for your information.

I still don't have enough permission to view the detail of that bug though, do you know WHEN and WHAT software version this will be fixed in?

BTW, I've already opened SR to Japan TAC the day before yesterday, so I will let him know that bug ID.

Best Regards,

Kotaro Hashimoto

Hi Kotaro,

the fix will be in TC7.1 scheduled for release in March. The fix is also in the TC7.0.x branch, so if we release a bug fix version prior to TC7.1, i it will include this fix.

Regards,

Jonas
