Cisco PrecisionHD 720p Camera with C60 codec - Firmware?

I can't find any documents regarding firmware availability or updates for this camera model.

It's connected to a C60 TC7.2.0 and in the Peripherals page, the camera model is Cisco PrecisionHD 720p

and the software ID is S01692-3.0Final [ID:30038] 2009-08-27

The problem is that the camera does not respond to the IR of the remote control. (PTZ)

Is there a firmware update or DIP switch setting or something needed to use this camera with this codec?

What's displayed when you go

What's displayed when you go to: Configuration > System Status > Camera?

What happens when you swap this camera from on another codec, does the issue follow the camera or, stay with the codec?  There could be an issue with the camera or the codec, swapping the cameras from two different codecs and testing, should help tell you where the issue lies.

As far as firmware, the camera receives it's software via the codec, so as long as you're running the most up to date software on the codec, you should have the latest (that is if there is a newer version).

1.  What is displayed is

1.  What is displayed is pasted below....

2. I am asking on behalf of some co-workers at a remote site.  I'll get back to you on this one after they try it.

3. I was going off of another post here,  that the 720p model does not get firmware through C60 codecs like other 1080 PHD cameras do.  See here:

Ah, thanks for the link, didn't know that about the 720p cameras.

I've had a case a few years ago, where the cameras were detected by the codec, but the camera didn't work when trying to control them.  When we swapped the camera to another codec and vise versa, neither the camera in question worked, nor the codec that the camera was originally connected to did either.  End result was an RMA of the camera and codec, with the possibility of all camera control ports gone bad.

So swapping out cameras is a good test to try and see where the issue really is.

Yes, that's correct about the

Yes, that's correct about the 720P cameras not upgrading from the C series codec.

If you want to upgrade them, the best way to do it is to connect them to one of the older MXP devices (ie, and Edge 95 MXP).

The firmware you posted is the latest that is available: S01692-3.0Final [ID:30038] 2009-08-27.

Dumb question: Do you have the camera control cable connected?  And are you using the correct camera control cable - from memory, there are two, a "C3000" and a "C6000" cable - only the C6000 cable will work when connecting the 720 Camera to the C series codec.  The C3000 cable is used on the Edge 95.

The other problem could be that you don't have the IR turned on on your endpoint:

xconf // ir
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 1 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 2 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 3 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 4 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 5 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 6 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 7 IrSensor: On
*c xConfiguration SystemUnit IrSensor: Auto
** end
