CMS 2.3 Set Importance for Participant

Randall Jackson

In CMS 2.3, an new API command was added to the CallLegProfile to allow call legs with the assigned call leg profile to be able to set the importance of other participants.

If a coSpace was setup with multiple access methods, once access method could be public for most callers and then a second access method to this meeting can have a CalllegProfile that allows users accessing the space via the second access method to be able to set callers importance levels.

However, there is no mention in the documentation anywhere of how to do this? Outside of using the API. However, this cannot be done while on the call. I would expect that there would be a value that can be set via a DTMF profile that would allow a specific key combination to set this but cannot locate this.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Importance can only be applied to participants themselves, it's not possible to assign importance to a callLegProfile and be automatically assigned to all participants that use it.  If you search for "importance" in the CMS 2.3 API Guide, you can see where and how importance can be applied.  API is the only current method to apply importance to a participant, I'm sure it would most likely be added to CMM sometime in the future.

Thanks for the reply Patrick.

in 2.3 a new callLegProfile API command was added "setImportanceAllowed". If this is added to a callLegProfile, there is an option when connected to a call in the WebRTC client to set the importance of a participant. It sets this value to "0" however, so i believe there is still some work Cisco developers need to do to correct this, however, it does allow this outside of the API. If you use the AccessMethods on the coSpaces, you can assign a specific calllegProfile to an AccessMethod and then allow users with that AccessMethod to have the ability to set Importance of a participant. Was just hoping there would be more control of this, as well as setting the value, from other methods as well. Hopefully in future releases.
