CPCM - Connection to devices

Hi all,

Does anyone know how CPCM communicates with endpoints, MCU's etc? I know HTTP and SNMP is used but what i want to find out is does the endpoint need to communicate with CPCM or does CPCM do all the communcations (i.e pull info from endpoints rather than the endpoint sending the information to PCM)

I also need to know if i were to use NAT between PCM and the devices would this still work as suspected?

Cheers.

Any luck with this one guys?

Hi Dean,

The Cisco Prime Collaboration Manager Quick Start Guide lists the protocols and communication directions for the various systems (note Table 4 and Section 6 "Setting up Devices on the Network").

CPCM 1.2 does not support NAT.  It will learn all of the inside private ip addresses of the devices from CTS-Manager (or TMS) but then it cannot poll these devices directly via these ip addresses.

HTH,
