External TMS SQL instance

I found the software requirements for external SQL servers in the install guide, but I can't seem to find the compute requirements. processors, RAM, iops, etc.  Should we just use the Microsoft recomendations (like found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506.aspx) or is there anything more application specific we should go by?

External TMS SQL instance

TMS doesn't care what the hardware specs of the external SQL server is, as long as it's there when it needs to access it.

As you mentioned, yes, just use the Microsoft recommendations, the minimum specs are pretty low and most platforms should be able to meet them.

in the longer term, it'll depend on how busy your TMS will be, how many endpoints, users, etc will be accessing it.
