install and configure of new SX20 system

   We have just installed a new SX-20 device and connected to network but we can ping and connect to appliance via browser for management and config

I am tryin to initiate a call but with no success, I have spoken to cisco support who keep asking aboiut a gatekeeper device which I can see as part of the system config page

Please could someone help and I am very new to this technology

Hi Mark,

In general situation if you want to make direct call, you can use SX20 to make direct H323 call to endpoint using IP adrress.

Few things to consider:

1. Either have public IP address on SX20 or proper NAT should be configured, and make sure in case of NAT H323 NAT should be configured.

2. While making call make sure to select H323 as call protocol.

Hi Mark,

What type of call are you making from the codec?

Is it initiated from the web interface or remote control?

Try dialling any other codec's IP address in same LAN and check.
