If you are using this guide:
http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/mcu/install_guide/mcu_deployment_guide_4-4.pdf
Then yes that is correct.
You would need to create the permanent conferences first or use an auto attendant

If its a new deployment of a MCU I would look into a TelePresence server.
check out:

Please contact your Cisco partner to help you with it. They will know your deployment and can give you more information.

Dear martin,
I don't have telepresence server.
But i have read deployment guide 4.4 where it shows that to create a trunk to MCU and route pattern i.e for rendevous conferncing ??
this means is a route pattern of 5XXX is created pointing to MCU then a groups of users who dials a 5555 will be in one conference using a MCU resources
Please correct me if i am wrong
Thanks

Dear heathrw
Thanks for confirming my query,
As I am planning to register MCU as media resource and also a rendezvous point, so I hope these both can work.
Thanks
