As Jens has said above, yes, the TCS (TelePresence Content Server) runs on a Windows platform, and so does TMS (TelePresence Management Suite).  They're effectively just applications that run on top of the Windows OS.

The C60/EX90/etc devices that run the TC series software are Linux based - you can check this if you look in the logs when logged in as root (ie, on a TC7.0.2 box: Linux version 3.9.11-238 (henribak@rdbuild14) (gcc version 4.7.2 (crosstool-NG hg+default-20f2459b97bf) ) #1 PREEMPT Mon Jan 13 13:53:18 CET 2014).

The VCSes also run a Linux based OS (ie, on Software version X8.1 it's: Linux version 3.6.1 (jenkins@ukdev-natty-build3) (gcc version 4.7.2 (GCC) ) #1 SMP Tue Nov 26 12:08:07 UTC 2013).

TCS runs on Windows servers, I believe the MXPs are running eCos, not sure about the rest, but suspect the C-series and VCS could be using a custom Linux solution.

Hi Wayne,

How to check the Linux version of the Cisco VCS/Expressway? We are running on software version X8.8.

Thank you.

If you telnet/ssh/serial connect to your VCS and log in as root, you can issue the uname -a command which will show you which version.  Here's a sample from X8.1.1:

Linux hostname 4.4.3 #1 SMP Thu Jun 30 11:59:49 UTC 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux
