Starter Pack Express with public address

Hi,

I'm configuring a starter pack ver 7.2.1, currently I have registered an EX90 and I have set a SIP trunk with CM server 8.6 , I can  call in both ways (VCS SP <--> Ip Phones). My next step is to registerd end points from outside and dial from other domains to my VCS SP.

I have a doubt regarding how to set public address. I want to try the easiest way to set public addres and reach from outside an call to endpoints from outside. I'm going to try with LAN2 port, but I don't understand why there is no default gateway option. and the only option I can see is to use external line

interface

regards

Regards the routing you asked for, there are a couple of postings in here about it.

In short, you can only have one default route which points to the internet,

and for your local networks you add additional static routes through the CLI.

To follow up with what I was saying, this deployment guide : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Basic_Configuration_Control_with_Expressway_Deployment_Guide_X7-2.pdf has a section that explains the Dual NIC option (running 2 NIC's with a NAT). Take a look at appendix 4 starting on page 56.

Re: Starter Pack Express with public address

There a couple different ways to tackle this. The recommended method is to set LAN 2 as the public interface. Place it in a DMZ and NAT an external ip to it. The gateway setting will need to be the DMZ gateway that goes to the outside world. You would also need to define some static routes via cli for connectivity to your internal LAN. All of the details for this is in the VCS deployment guides. When I get back to my laptop I can provide more specific details.

Starter Pack Express with public address

Hi Zachary,

I have already checked the document, and I set public address in NIC 2 (for the moment I'm not using NAT). I can dial to outside with url and I can receive from outside with url address for the moment things go well ; my doubt now is regarding traversal zone in zone--->zone , I try to define it but all the time is shown Failed. For starter pack is not required??
