Supported SIP URI Characters

Hi,

I am currently setting up interoperability between Cisco VCS-Control X7.1 and CUCM V7.1.3.

The IPT dial plan consists of site prefixes and area codes which make up the phones full DN, this DN is also starts with a #.

E.g #0044014761

My problem is (I think), that # is an unsupported SIP URI character which is stated in the deployment guide. I have attempted to use %35 which is the ASCII value for #; interestingly enough, when using this i can resolve the alias against the CUCM SIP trunk but when attempting to dial from an endpoint, it fails.

I know my SIP trunk is OK, as I can route 9.* calls via it over the CUCM PSTN break-out.

Has anyone come across this issue before, or been able to work around it??

Thanks, Si
