SX20 Content WXGA

Hi all,

Does anyone know if SX20 can receive WXGA(1280x800) at H.239?

And if MCU4500 is configured at Content mode in H.239 as "Passthrough", does the MCU receive and send content to SX20 at WXGA?

Unfortunately I have no PC that can send content at WXGA.

Best Regards,

Kotaro Hashimoto

Hi Kotaro,

Yes, SX20 does support WXGA as input for live video (main video and presentation), but the resolution is 1280 x 768. Take a look at data sheet on the Live Video Resolutions session:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps7060/ps11304/ps11313/ps11424/ps12153/data_sheet_c78-688342.html

With regards MCU, you can pass WXGA content using passthrough mode, however, using this mode, MCU wont transcode the content, that means, all participants in the conference must to support this same video resolution, otherwise, MCU will lower the content quality considering the lower resolution negotiated by the endpoints.

Hi Paulo,

Thank you for your information.

I see SX20 supports 1280 x 768 as WXGA not 1280 x 800

BTW, I got a PC and made some tests to confirm which resolution an MCU can transcode.

Test device:

Two SX20s(Transmit and Receive): SW version TC6.2.0 .

One MCU4501: SW version 4.4(3.54) Full HD mode, Content mode "Transcoded", Outgoing transcoded resolutions "Allow all resolutions".

  No Gatekeeper.

PC-->SX20(Transmit)-->MCU<--SX20(Receive>

PC Resolution        SX20 Transmit        MCU Transmit                SX20 Receive
