SX20 into BE6000

Hi,

Our customer has a BE6000 solution, they want to acquire two endpoints SX20 for a telepresence solution. Does they need any special requirement or license to add the SX20 into the BE6000 solution? Want would the customer need to integrate the SX20 with other endpoints to make and receive calls?

The SX20 can register natively to UCM from version 8.6 and above. They will need a telepresence room license to be compliant. Once it registers, then you should be able to call other endpoints on the same UC manager system. If the customer needs to call out to a 3rd party system, you will need the Expressway C/E or VCS C/E depending on requirements.

Thanks George, I have another doubt. The BE6000 doesn't come with VCS? So if the SX20 is registered it could also call outside 3rd party systems.?

Hi Ivan,

The BE6000 doesn't come with VCS? BE6000 is only the hardware who hosted the virtual machines that you want...

It depends of the configuration of this BE6000 and the call that you want to make ... IP or ISDN ?

if you want  to call to the 3rd party by IP, you must use a BE6000 who hosted several VM: VCS control + VCS ExpressWay (CUCM optional)

If you want to call to the 3rd party by ISDN: you must acquired one ISDN gateways for telepresence (GW3241 for example...)

Hi Ivan, The BE6K comes with a VCS and limited licensing. What it doesn't come with is VCSE, which is required for outside calling. IMO, you should be able to get Expressway C/E (Which is free) and use that. You will have to purchase Rich media session like licenses for the number of concurrent outbound calls you like to make. FYI. Expressway C/E runs the same code base as VCS, its just licensed differently. HTH
