SX20 Tandberg and CUCM version 9

Hi to all

We would like to register SX20 with CUCM and also to have the choise to dial or recieve video calls from outside(from other endpoints)

We are wondering if the below scenario could play.(Note that we know that the correct scenario is with vcs c and vcs e but we will do it later)

For now is possible to proceed with the below scenario?

CUCM--SX20--configure NAT ip to the tandberg and then port forward to the ASA for the incoming calls

Pls share your thoufgts regarding this hybrit scenario

Regards

Hi Chrysostomos,

below are the ports need to be opened for H323 calls:

For H.323:

  • Gatekeeper Discovery (RAS) – Port 1719 – UDP
  • Q.931 call Setup – Port 1720 – TCP
  • H.245 – Port Range 5555-5574 – TCP
  • Video – Port Range 2326-2485 – UDP
  • Audio – Port Range 2326-2485 – UDP
  • Data/FECC – Port Range – 2326-2485 – UDP

Please change the RTP port configuration to static on codec, else if it is set to dynamic it will open ports above 11000 range.

xConfiguration RTP Ports: Static

also make sure h323 inspection is disabled on ASA

Hi Chrysostomos,

if you are registering your SX20 to CUCM, then it will be over SIP and will use SIP url for making call to other devices on CUCM, like 2002@cucm.com

now,you are also NATTING SX20 ip address to a public IP for direclty calling from outside, which will also work fine as this will use direct H323 calling here.

both scenario uses different protocols, one SIP and other Direct IP calling over H323.

if NAT and ASA is properly configured, then i guess it will work fine.

the only thing you need to do when making call is to make SIP call for internal CUCM devices and h323 for direclty external calls.

Amit

Thank so much for your answers

Do you know what actual i have to configure into ASA?

The natting will be done from load balancer(are in front  of all, then is the ASA.so i have to open only 1729,1720 ports for the private ip of sx20 ?

ISP--Load balancer-SW-ASA-CUCM-SX20
