Tandberg MPS 800 - Crash and reboot, Media card 0 dead detected

Good morning,

I have problem with Tandberg MPS 800.

For the first time, during video conference with 12 clients, it crash and reboot on the 5th hour. All Conference rooms are gone and I have to re-create new conference room to recover it.

After searching on eventlog using CLI command, I find this:

WEB: SSL handshake failed: Shutting down connection.

Media card 0 dead, write error - size 104 (max 1792) - message to /dev/pcidrvtx0:

The MPS 800 is still working now, but I am afraid if this problem happen again in the future.

Should I replace Media Card 0 to new one to fix this issue? And physically which one is Media Card 0, since the slot start with slot 1?

Please suggest.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Cheers,

Tandberg MPS 800 - Crash and reboot, Media card 0 dead detected

HI Ketut - We more than likely would need to look at the entire logs folder contained on the MPS to see what happened.  It would be best for you to open a TAC case so that we can take a look.

1) Include SN and SW version running on MPS.

2) WINSCP to MPS via root.

3) Navigate to the TANDBERG Folder

4) Here, you will see a folder called "logs".  Copy and paste this folder to your desktop.

5) DO NOT OPEN the folder until after it is sent.  This destroys the timestamps on the files.

6) ZIP them up and attach to SR.

If you can, in the SR provide as much details as you can about the call that was processing when the restart occurred.  Would give us a good sense on what happened.

This message is really generic.  Media Card 1 may have exited due to another reason which isn't listed on the controller card logs.  The logs folder will contain the Media Card Logs hence the importance of attaching them to the case.

Dear Patrick,

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

Finally, we open a TAC case regarding this problem. And Cisco TAC engineer request us to upgrade our software J4.2 to the latest one J4.6

Btw, for the next time that you have to reboot the MPS,

You saw the winscp guide. You can use such a procedure to backup

and restore the config of your virtual meetigrooms as well.

Martin,

Would you have an idea, as to why a media card would go red with an alarm indicator, right after a call was initiated?
