At a guess, your touch panel didn't upgrade its firmware when you upgraded the endpoint. Can you disconnect it and re-connect it? It should then see that it's running a different version and proceed to upgrade itself to the right version.
Another thing you could try would be to factory reset the touch panel (press the exclamation mark, at the bottom right corner, for 10 seconds until it lights up, then press the mute button twice - the touch panel should reboot after a few seconds with factory settings).
I have also noticed with the odd EX90 touchpanel when upgrading to TC7.0.1, that the touchpanel fails to reboot after the upgrade has completed. A further reboot of the codec (whcih forces the touch panel to reboot) has fixed this problem on those that I've seen.

Edit: While not likely since you can run TCNC6.x - you may want to check that you don't have one of the defective touch panels.
