Telepresence C40 intermittent on/off microphone audio input

Hi,

There was a time the telepresence C40 microphone audio input goes to off mode when we boot up the device. Also when we manually enable it and end call the videoconference.

The mode will automatically goes off.

The Setup is C40 microphone audio input is connected to the third party mixer.

Is there any workarounds to fix it?

Highly appreciated for your help. Thank you so much!

Re: Telepresence C40 intermittent on/off microphone audio input

Hi All,

Ralph opened a case with TAC and came on webex. This is just to let everyone know that we were able to resolve the issue. Just to pass on the information. This is what we did on the webex session :

We found out tha the microphones were turning off as soon as we disconnected the call. We checked the following things:

xConfiguration Conference 1 AutoAnswer Mute: Off

xConfiguration Conference 1 MicUnmuteOnDisconnect Mode: On

xConfiguration Provisioning Mode: TMS

We first turned off the MicUnmuteOnDisconnect and the issue still persisted. We then unprovisioned the endpoint from the TMS suspecting that the configuration might be coming from the TMS and checked by calling again. Hoewver, the Microphones were still turning off upon disconnecting the call.

We finally checked the MuteOnInactiveVideo settings :

xConfiguration Audio Input Microphone 1 VideoAssociation MuteOnInactiveVideo: On

xConfiguration Audio Input Microphone 2 VideoAssociation MuteOnInactiveVideo: On

We turned both of them to Off and the issue was resolved. Ralph, please mark this question as answered so that others can benefit.

Telepresence C40 intermittent on/off microphone audio input

Hi Ralph,

You might want to check the MicUnmuteOnDisconnect settings :

xConfiguration Conference [1..1] MicUnmuteOnDisconnect

Determine if the microphones should be unmuted automatically when all calls are disconnected. In a

meeting room or other shared resource this could be done to prepare the system for the next user.

Requires user role: ADMIN

Value space:

On: Un-mute the microphones after the call is disconnected.

Off: If muted, let the microphones remain muted after the call is disconnected.

Example: xConfiguration Conference 1 MicUnmuteOnDisconnect: On

Telepresence C40 intermittent on/off microphone audio input

Hi Ralph,

I think what you are trying to achieve requires this mode to be OFF rather than ON. If you have this to ON, it would automatically trigger to un-mute the microphone. If you have set this to OFF, it would not be automatic and the audio would be only turned OFF/ON manually.

xConfiguration Conference 1 MicUnmuteOnDisconnect Mode: Off

Hence, try to set this to OFF and let us know if that solves the problem.
