Hi all,
Does anybody know if Telepresence Conductor can handle a clusterd MSE8510(3 blades) as one MCU?
If so, we can create one conference with 60 HD port , which means we can save 3 HD port licenses compared with cascading 3 blades.

TelePresence Conductor able to manage up to 30 MCUs.
Any cluster MCU will count as 1 MCU as TelePresence Conductor only communicate with master MCU within cluster MCU.
For example:
4520 – Count as one managed MCU
8510 – count as one managed MCU
2 x 8510 cluster MCU – count as one managed MCU
3 x 8510 cluster MCU – count as one managed MCU
Please note that Master MCU IP address must configure on MCU pool on TelePresence Conductor.

Technically yes, TelePresence Conductor able to manage 90 x 8510 MCU resources (30 x 3-8510 cluster MCUs).

Yeap,
You can see at this link.

Hi Baris,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I have already read the guide but I could not find description about "Cisco TelePresence Conductor".

Hello Kotaro,
I think Conductor is different story. Its not like MSE 8000 chassis with physical Mcu clustering.
Did you saw this guide :

Hi Taniguchi-san,
So if we create 30 MCU clusters which consist of 3 MSE8510 blades each, one TelePresence Conductor can manage up to 1800 ports?

Yes, this is correct.
Clustering 8510 MCU blade, MCU blade communicate via backplane not over ether port therefore no additional HD port consume for “cascade” connection between 8510 MCU blade.
Please note 3 x 8510 clustering support without using TelePresence Conductor. (just need to configure cluster on 8050 SV blade).
But good point, if you configure three 8510 MCU blade on TelePresence Conductor as separate MCU, then TelePresence Conductor will setup large conference as “cascade” connection which will consume HD port just cascading the two or more MCU (what port license consume is very depend on media configuration on MCU blade).

This might not be clear enough but here is snapshot from large connection test in lab with TelePresence Conductor which handling 1500 ad-hoc connection as sample.
