TMS and JAVA problem

I have TMS version 14.5 and Java 8 (update 25)

All of a sudden , when i go to TMS->Conference control Center,

i enter my credentials and then get Error Click for detail

I have tried this in Internet Explorer, Firefox , Chrome->same behaviour

I have added my TMS server to the Security Exception Site List in Java.

I also have installed Java 32 bit and 64bit version .

Any idea how i could resolve this?

This is because of security updates in Java, you'll need to create an exception in Java for your TMS server.  Steps to do this are in the following discussion:  tms-conference-monitoring-not-working-after-java-update

The fixes in that post are for the older versions of TMS - this is no longer necessary with TMS 14.5.

We run TMS 14.5 here, with the latest Java 8u25, and do not require the security exceptions for it to work any more (we've removed them on all the PCs that were previously configured that way)..

The Java can be a bit finicky, especially with Conference Control Centre - we find it generally works better here when using IE11 than with Firefox 33.

Thanks for the info Wayne, I haven't updated to TMS 14.5 or even running Java 8 yet, I didn't know that it was fixed.  Now I don't have to worry about the exception, which was a pain to remember to do on any computer you expected to use TMS CCC on.

No worries Patrick.

Further to my response to the Original Poster - I'd also strongly suggest you empty out your browser and also your Java cache - having an older file in the cache often contributes to these sorts of issues.

Another possible solution could be trying both http and https and seeing if there is a difference.  Also see if you can bypass any proxy or web caching server as these can also interfere.

For what it's worth - I also have two PCs here  with pretty much idential builds (Win8.1 64-bit, Java 8u25 32 and 64 bit installed) - one works fine when using https, and the other I have to use http to get it to work.  And different behaviour/errors on both when it doesn't work.  We can pretty much rule out the TMS server as being the issue as it works both ways on different machines, but on these specific two PCs , there are some unknown differences that are causing issues - we're still investigating these ones, but the majority of our other PCs work fine with no errors reported.  So, if you're having problems on one PC, try another - or try from a RDP session on the TMS server itself to determine where your issue actually is.

Patrick, as mentioned I have added my TMS server to the Security Exception Site List in Java.No solution.

Wayne, i have tried java 8 in Interner explorer 11 and Firefox 33.1 and cleared cache ->nothing.

As soon i uninstalled java 8 and installed java 7 (latest update) i was able to access conference control center.

A colleague of mine uses java 8 in an environment identical to mine. so i can't explain why this is happening.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but this was a severe problem for me over the last week. Thank you for pointing out the http / https issue, so simple, but that was a leading clue for me solving my problem!

Thank you very much for your replies.
