VCS Cluster maximum non-traversal calls

Hi all,

As mentioned in datasheet of VCS, I know one VCS can host up to 500 nontraversal calls.

But VCS cluster that consists of 6 VCSs can only process 2,000, not 3,000(6 x 500).

I wonder how many calls each VCS cluster can process.

Is this correct ?

VCS cluster of 2

    =>Up to 5,000 registratrions ?

        Up to 1,000 nontraversal calls ?

        Up to 200 traversal calls ?

VCS cluster of 3

    =>Up to 7,500 registratrions ?

        Up to 1,500 nontraversal calls ?

        Up to 200 traversal calls ?

VCS cluster of 4

    =>Up to 10,000 registratrions ?

        Up to 2,000 nontraversal calls ?

        Up to 300 traversal calls ?

VCS cluster of 5

    =>Up to 10,000 registratrions ?

        Up to 2,000 nontraversal calls ?

        Up to 400 traversal calls ?

VCS cluster of 6

    =>Up to 10,000 registratrions

        Up to 2,000 nontraversal calls

        Up to 400 traversal calls

Re: VCS Cluster maximum non-traversal calls

Hi Kotaro,

even though the 6 servers are supported per vcs cluster however only 4 will be active. Hence 4 * 500 == 2000 license.

check the above document.

Quoted from VCS datasheet.

Re: VCS Cluster maximum non-traversal calls

As mentioned by Alok, only 4 out of 6 peers in the cluster are active and the other 2 are in passive state/standby state for resiliency purpose. That's why you see the number call handling for 6 peers to 2000 rather than 3000.

Re: VCS Cluster maximum non-traversal calls

Thank you for your information, Alok and Ahmad!

That is interesting.

Will the 2 passive VCSs in a cluster automatically activate themselves when they find other VCSs failed?

Is there any detailed document on cluster function?

I have only configured a cluster of 2 VCSs...

Re: VCS Cluster maximum non-traversal calls

Hi Kotaro,

yes, when 1 of the node fails, it should be able to take over.

i don't think there is a document which details "how cluster works"  or may be i am not aware off if its there.

with only 2 node's in the cluster all the nodes will be active.
