VCS Expressway

Hello

  • Attached is the design, pls confirm whether it is correct ???
  • Actually my boss want to have a video conference with xyz company who is having a VCS expressway up and running live, we ordered the new VCS expressway appliance and 1 no's old C20 codec he asked me to setup and unfortunately i am not able to setup, Want to know the concept how the URI dialing works, and how i shld register TP endpoints in VCS , I am trying to  register C20 Codec to VCS and it shows in the logs registration rejected and failed on C20,
  • Very new to VCS and desperately want to know how the call flow will be within 2 nos separate entities for example,mycompany.com and xyz.com
  • There is no default gateway option for LAN2 so how the traffic will be routed to the other domains, can we add a route in VCS.

Thanks

Usually there are two

Usually there are two components - VCS Control and VCS Expressway. VCS Control sits on the internal network and VCS Expressway sits on the external/DMZ network. The endpoints register to VCS Control. VCS Control build a "Traversal Zone" to VCS Expressway and when an endpoint tries to route calls out, it goes from VCS Control to VCS Expressway and then out.

You might be able to register endpoints to VCS Expressway if you have the device provisioning license on it. You will have to setup a domain on the VCS to accept registrations. You have to set this same domain on the endpoint as well.

Take a look at this to troubleshoot endpoint registrations. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/articles/vcs_endpoint_registration_problems_kb_460.html

This might also be caused due to firewall as well.

You can look at the documentation below to learn how to configure dial out from the VCS-C/VCS-E.

Dears,The endpoint is

Dears,

The endpoint is registered now becz it was having a domain name different that's the reason it was not registering.

I am reaching to the remote destination by DNS zone i have created a DNS zone and a search rule with any alias, also i have configured a DNS now the calls hits the VCS but the calls does'nt get established and in the logs events i can see call rejected.

Thanks

Can you set diagnostics logs

Can you set diagnostics logs onyour VCS e and c to debug and send test again. Donwload the logs and send to use here. Include calling and called numbers and time of call

Is it VCS control and VCS Expressway are two separate appliance or two components in one box (Cisco Telepresence video communication server)

Thanks

Logs as Ayodeji requested will also help.
