Hi Guys,

I've been tasked with finding out if a support contract is required on a vcse to make the transition from hardware to VMware.

Thanks in advance

We just went through a VCS appliance to VM migration.  There is a specific part number (R-VMVCS-C-M-K9 for Control or

R-VMVCS-C-M-K9 for Expressway) to make the transition, and that part number has it's own service contract.  The part number will allow you to transfer all the hardware options to the VM.

There are discussion in the forums on this already, here are some:

The HW VCS uses Tandberg release key verification, but the VM VCS uses Cisco/Tandberg release key verfication and the option keys are bound with the serial number. You need to pay except for cloning the old serial number.
