Custom Sysdate Variable

It’s probably because its really a Monday today that I can’t quite get my head around what I need to do to accomplish this.

On the first of the month I have to run a script and pass it date variables.

Example: On Sept 1^st, it would have been:

Script 20140826 20140831

With the 20140826 being anywhere from 2-5 days previously, I can’t just use something like sysdate-1 like I would for the second date variable. The first date is always going to be the 26^th of the previous month. 

a) How would I represent yyyymm(-1)

and

b) yyyymm(month end)

nm. I figured it out.

a) Date variable, start with current month subtract 1.

b) start with current month add one month, subtract 1 day.
