Hi all,
We ahve a job definition that we created a few weeks back. Yesterday We were asked to modify the name of the job and did so without a problem. The name is as follows: 190 - Delete contract file CPS - PGP now after we made the change everything looked fine. When I cam in today the hyphen between the CPS and PGP was changed to an upside down question mark ¿. Any ideas as to why this would happen? and if it means anything in Tidal. It has us completely baffled.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,
I believe you fell victim to the different formats for dash (EM Dash, EN Dash and a Hyphen) and copying from a MS Word Document (or clipboard) into Tidal.
From the web site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dash
Modern computer software typically has support for many more characters, and is usually capable of rendering both the en and em dashes correctly—albeit sometimes with a little inconvenience for the user who has to input them. Some software, though, may operate in a more limited mode. Some text editors, for example, are restricted to working with a single 8-bit character encoding, and when unencodable characters are entered (e.g., by pasting from the clipboard), they are often blindly converted to question marks.

Thanks! We came to that conclusion too. Just wanted to be sure it wasn’t a bug that was going to lead to other issues!
