Hi,
One of our customer is using call manager version 4.1 with MCS 7800 series hardware and would like to replace the hardware to Cisco Business Edition 7000H Svr (M4) with Cisco unified communication manager 11.x, Is it possible migrate the IP Phone license from call manger version 4.1 to CUCM 11.x
The customer has around 1000 licenses in call manager 4.1

Hi Jamal,
You will have to use BARS first to get to 7.1.5
http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074297/30662/BARS-4-0-15-Readme.html
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-callmanager/77804-ccm-bars-ts.html
It will also give you a licence file that you need to send to licencing@cisco.com for licence migration.
Once you are at CUCM version 7.1.5 then you can either go to 11.5.X directly by using PCD tool explained below.
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/13324101/export-phonesusers-cucm-803-cucm-115
Or you can do step upgrade to CUCM 9.x and then upgrade to 11.5.x from there.

Hi Jamal,
There might be a way, i am not sure. what i can tell you is, its far from supported BARS is the way to go with this migration. While using the ways above to migrate your CUCM you would get support from TAC and others.

Hi Jamal,
In addition to the useful tips from Jitender you can check the following post where i answered a similar query, the target version was 10.5 in that case but the procedure remains the same
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/13040986/migrating-cucm-4x-1052
Basically the important step is using DMA to migrate the data from Windows to Linux first and then its easy from there using PCD or traditional migration methods.

Hi Manish,
Thanks for correction its DMA not BARS.
Jamal,
Its DMA that you need to do for Windows to linux OS transition.
