cup 7 upgrade to 8.6

                   hi we have ccm 7, with cup 7 installed. CUP is deployed with MSLync for remote call control .

We have to migrate ccm and cup users to new version 8.6 ccm and cup 8.6 ? Anyone have experience of this and could provide best practice for the upgrade, just high level steps. Its new platform as well.

New ccm 8 is already installed , no data migrated yet. TIA...Jeff

As for the macro-level steps

1. Review the product release notes, compatibility guides, server supportability, and upgrade guides. For example, with CUP you need to stop the Sync Agent before starting the upgrade (listed in the release notes) and you'll likely need to do a two-hop upgrade to get past 8.6(3). Many MCS servers need memory/disk uplifts as well.
2. Place a PUT order to get updated licenses and ISO images.
3. Take a backup and start your maintenance window. Ensure you know the security passphrase.
4. Upgrade the publisher
5. Upgrade the subscriber(s)
6. Verify that database replication is working
7. Execute your test plan

Any other advise from anyone would be appreciated. CCM and CUP has to be migrated t new platform. All licenses and images sorted.
