What about the below licenses ,i think it is required as well .

SW-CCME-UL-7975Communications Manager Express License For One 7975G Phone

SW-CCME-UL-8961=CCME PHONE LICENSE FOR 8961 IP PHONE
SW-CCME-UL-9951=CCME PHONE LICENSE FOR 9951 IP PHONE
SW-CCME-UL-9971=CCME PHONE LICENSE FOR 9971 IP PHONE

Mar7aba Mohamed,

Yes , they are also required , every phone requires a CCME license when you buy it.

Amer

Hi Amer,

Are these phone licenses still honor license or will be needed via cli to activate the phones to work with the CME ?

Regards

sure won't post to waste time

I found this command to activate the evaluation license of the CME from 60-days to 12-years

license accept end user agreement

the license name is UCK9

but I'm asking here for the license needed per phone

I didn't find any activation commands to activate a license related to use the IP Phones with the CME

or it is honor license won't be needed on cli ?

Regards

Hi Hytham,

Even with the newest ISR-G2 CME licensing scheme, Phone Licenses are Paper based RTU licenses (Right to Use).

Right to Use Feature licenses are not enforced. The "legal" expectation is that a license like the ones that were linked will be purchased for each phone but this is still strictly "honor" based

Here is a clip that speaks to this question;

Prerequisites for Configuring Cisco Unified CME

Base Cisco Unified CME feature license and phone user licenses that entitle you to use Cisco Unified CME are **purchased.

From this CME doc;

Rob,

This post was of interest to me.

I have a query with (Right To Use License) for SRST.

The output shows that I have an Eval period of 8 weeks. Does this become permanent at the end of the evaluation period.

UKEAS-2911#show license detail cme-srst

Feature: cme-srst                        Period left: 8  weeks 3  days

thanks

Ian.

Hi Ian,

Here's the skinny

Activating CME-SRST Feature License

The ISR G2 comes with a 60-day evaluation license. After 60 days, the license changes to "right to use". The customer is required to pay for the CME-SRST feature license which is valid for 12 years.

Evaluation Licenses

Evaluation licenses are also temporary, and you use them to evaluate a feature set on new hardware.

You obtain evaluation licenses from the Cisco licensing portal: https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/PrivateRegistrationServlet?DemoKeys=Y

Note You must go to the Cisco Product License Registration portal prior to the expiration of the evaluation license to upgrade the license status.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/csa/configuration/guide/csa_overview_support_TSD_Island_of_Content_Chapter.html#wp1067426

So, ultimately you will need to order the SRST feature and then load the corresponding license key PAK when received.

Cheers!

Rob

Rob,

As always thanks for the prompt reply.

I am still confused as we ordered as below:

2911 Voice Bundle wPVDM3-16, FL-CME-SRST-25, UC License PAK

Cisco SRST Telephony License     FL-SRST

Cisco 2901-2921 IOS Universal

I have two Technoloy Licenses:

Hi Ian,

I think I may have given you some bad info here. Sorry about that

Right to Use Feature Licenses

The following licenses do not Cisco software activation and you can begin using the features upon receipt of the Right to Use Notification

Feature License Name

Prerequisites

License Types

CME

IP Base & UC

Feature (Counted)

SRST

IP Base & UC

Feature (Counted)

VXML Gateway

IP Base & UC

Feature (Counted)

CUBE

IP Base & UC

Feature (Counted)

Land Mobile Radio

You should be good to go. But a quick note to

licensing@cisco.com

would be a fair idea.

Cheers!

Rob

Thanks Rob. Will do.

Rob,

FYI. Please see update from Licensing.

Licensing functionality is working as per design here.  Cme-srst licenses are honor based and hence you have to just accept the EULA.  After the 60 days of EvalRightToUse the license will change to "right to use" for 12 years.

cheers

Ian.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for this very kind follow-up +5 for this info

that will undoubtedly help others going forward.

Cheers!

Rob

Hi,

I need to mention the show above:

UKEAS-2911#show license detail cme-srst

Feature: cme-srst                        Period left: 8  weeks 3  days

Index: 1        Feature: cme-srst                          Version: 1.0

            Transition date: Nov 21 2011 08:12:13

        License Count: 58/0  (In-use/Violation)

        License Priority: Low

        Store Index: 7

        Store Name: Built-In License Storage

This date has been passed from 5-days Nov 21 2011 08:12:13

So did you notice what happened in your cme license

I have upgrade my cme and got the exact output: 8-weeks after it say 60-days before accepting the agreement after the max-ephone command

So Is this converted to a permanent 12-years license ??

I have four FL-CME-SRST-25 license papers but it don't include any PAC to get from licensing.com

it only describe the product
