Unity w/Exchange 2000 ---> Exchange 2003

We presently have a Unity 4.2(1) server with embedded Exchange 2000. When this server was installed our email system was not Exchange.

We have now moved to Exchange - currently 2003 but planning for a migration to 2007.

Can I "point" our Unity server to our Exchange 2003 box and have it use that rather than the built-in Exchange 2000?
