I am helping a colleage in a remote city that is installing a VM only Unity 4.2. He says the platform configuration disk loaded 2003 on the server. If this is right this would be the first I have seen like this.
Is this what is shipping now?
If so do we still continue to use the data store and message store (msde and exchange 2000)that shipped on the server as well as make it a domain controller? I thought Cisco only supported this on 2000 but that may be old info.

You are correct. 2003 is shipping for the OS and Unity. The datastore and message has not changed.

This also happened to me. The problem is that Exchange 2000 is not supported on Windows 2003 server(!).
Cisco did not ship any updated message store.
I had to use the old win2000 platform disk and reinstall.

Yes that is what I was concerned about. What are they thinking? Shipping an os/exchange combination you cannot use?
