1. Can you send externally to any domain or do all messages fail?

2. Do you get an NDR message bounced back?

3. Could be a problem with DNS. Do you have RDNS setup with your ISP? Many domains now require RDNS to be properly configured to accept mail. Does your Exchange server point to a DNS server which can resolve external addresses? For example, can you ping yahoo.com? You may not get a reply, but the IP address should get resolved.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Hi -

Hope you don't mind a few questions for clarification:

1. Was this a voice-only Unity install and you are now using Exchange for email/Outlook? Or was Outlook working before and then you installed Unity? Please include your version of Unity and Exchange when you post back.

2. Do you have separate voicemail only and email only accounts?

3. Is this a new Unity 4.2(1) mixed license (voice and unified messaging) implementation?

Thanks, Ginger

thanks.

1. first ,we use outlook with exchange, 1 year ago

and , recently i installed unity.

unity version is 4.0(3) and exchange 2003

2. i do not separate voicemail and email.

i set up two domail controllers.one is unity

and the other is exchange server.

3. our unity is 4.0(3) and unified messaging.

1) Did your problem with outbound e-mails start after unity install? This does not seem likely to me.

On the exchange server, I'd suggest you look at the app and system event logs to see if you have warnings and errors. Check to see if outbound port 25 is blocked?
