Bulk Import account type

Hi

In Bulk Import one of the options in the wizard is to make the account a voicemail only or a unified messaging account. We have a voicemail only system the will be upgraded to UM next year (we're just wating on an AD migration on the data side to finish).

I'm just wondering what the significance of this selection is. I didn't think you could have a mix of voicemail only and UM accounts on the same server so I don't understand why the option to choose is even given. I'm able to select Unified Messaging when I import the users and it works fine.

Just wondering if I'm missing something.

Thanks

Re: Bulk Import account type

Kris,

Mixed messaging is now an option for larger deployments. Take a look at the following link.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Now that I see that document again I remember reading it a few months ago.

Thanks, I'm sure that explains it.

Re: Bulk Import account type

Hi -

Just a caveat - You will want to remove the users that you imported as a UM user until you get ready to migrate your voicemail server to a mixed UM/VM license - in the same link Brandon sent, read the licensing and upgrade requirements.
