Bypass User greeting

I have a customer that wants a way to bypass the user greeting when it starts playing and just leave a message. Is there a way to do this in unity? This customer change their greetings everyday and some get quite lengthly. Their old VM system they could press 8 and bypass the greeting.

Thanks

Re: Bypass User greeting

You can press # to bypass the greeting.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Re: Bypass User greeting

You can do this manually or through Bulk Edit on Unity.

To test one greeting, pull out a Subscriber Profile in Unity.

Go to Caller Input

Select the "8" key (since you want to keep it the same as before)

Select the "skip greeting" radio button.

now test this.

if it works how you want it to, (should) go through the Bulk Edit to add this feature to all your Unity Subscribers at once. You can do this during business hours with no problems.

Hope this helps!

Re: Bypass User greeting

Standard Unity setup uses # to bypass the greeting and go to message. This can be changed on the individual subsciber or on the subsciber template by going to Caller Input screen and selecting a digit to use for Skip greeting.

You can use the Unity Tools Custom Key Mapping utility to change system prompts that the subsciber hears.

Re: Bypass User greeting

If you change the template, this is only for new subscribers you add, not for exsisting subscribers. If you want to change all subscriber caller input key, use the Bulk Edit tool.

Custom Key is good for you when the user logs into their mailbox to change the prompts. Such as 1 to listen, change it to 3 to listen. This is a great tool if have a company that was on a old voicemail system and are used to the prompts. They do not have to learn the new system now.
