Hello
With Call manager version 8x and 9x, if a subscriber node is installed in a cluster but the server is not identified before hand on the publisher under the "server" config, will it still replicate with the publisher if the security password is the same? I heard in CUCM 8 and beyond that the publisher will refuse connection requestions from a new server if it doesn't know who that server is.
Does anyone know if that is truely the case?
thanks

You wont even be able to finish the SUB install if its not added beforehand n the PUB

Hi Jaime
The question more revolved around repaplacing a Publisher server and if the existing subscribers would be able to connect to the new Publisher server just after you build it on the network and just before you do the restore on it.
The issue being if the existing subscribers connect to that newly build Publisher that has a emply config on it before you have a chance to do the restore on it, then you have the risk where that emply config gets replicated to the Subscribers. Supposedly below version 8 if you replaced the publisher and it had the same security password as the exisitntg subs but the servers were not configured on the publisher, replication would still occur. Supposely at version 8 and above the newly replcaed pub will not allow the existing subs to replicate as long as the servers are not configured on the publisher.
thanks
