There's nothing to configure, if you enable CDR, it logs all calls, There's no way to enable/disable CDR to just log internal or external calls. Make sure CDR is enabled in the server where your GW is pointing to.
Just to expand on Jaime's answer quickly: The Enable CDR service parameter is not global. You need to select each node from the top drop down, set Enable CDR to True, and click save. If the trunk or gateway is configured with a CallManager Group with a node where CDR = False, this won't get included in your export.
