Can an agent take multiple calls from a queue?

Basically we want to use Cisco Unified Enterprise Attendant Console to have an operator place the original call into the correct queue. The question is, can the agent take a call out of queue, answer them, put them on hold, take another call out of queue, answer them, put them on hold as well, then pickup the calls on hold? From what I understand you can't take multiple calls from queue.
