CIPC on Windows 7 - "Updating locales" each time

Hi! We have a customer running CIPC 7.0.5 and Windows 7 32 bits. Each time they open the CIPC, the CIPC starts downloading the locales.

Does not seem to be happening on the XP machines they still have.  Any ideas? / regards Anna

Re: CIPC on Windows 7 - "Updating locales" each time

I can think of two reasons off the top of my head:

  1. CIPC doesn't have permissions to run the locale installer.
    1. You could try running CIPC as Administrator (Right click on it and go to Run As Administrator)
  2. CIPC cannot download the locale files via TFTP.
    1. You can check the Status messages in the CIPC GUI to see if any errors about TFTP are being shown.
    2. You can try to manually download the files via TFTP to make sure TFTP connections work to this server.
      1. Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > TFTP Client
      2. Start > cmd > tftp -i GET SEP.cnf.xml
      3. The step above will just verify that you can download your config file via TFTP.

I also want to move this discussion to the CUCM Additional Apps and Plugins community, as that's where I believe the CIPC experts are hanging out. I'll handle that for you.
